This is how I framed Mom's/Grandma's quilt block. I bought the frame at Ikea and then added black borders to the quilt block to look like a black mat, and then I taped it around a piece of cardboard. The sides need to be straightened a little (before anyone points that fact out to me), but all in all I like it.

That looks great! I think my mom has one of those for me? I like how you added the black border too.
It needed it to fit the frame, so you have something to wrap around the backing. I also thought it looked like a mat.
