I have had a couple of friends lately with little girl babies, so I thought I'd do simple square quilts and minky backs. I learned something. I hate minky - does anyone have any tips to work with it? I tried to machine quilt the first one with simple - stitch the ditch lines. I got some major puckers and trying to seam rip just left it ripped. (thus the appliqued butterflies on the bottom. The second back turned out better, hand tying it with embroidery floss. They are still cute enough and "handmade" I love the softness, but curse that minky!

My tip for minky is; don't mess with it. Very cute blankets, I think the butterflies look like they were part of the original plan.
So cute! Love that pink fabric. I hate working with minky too. I have made a couple things with it - I wouldn't dare quilt it!!
