Minky Blankets

I made a couple of baby blankets in the past month. I found a little tutorial to make a minky blanket with ruffled binding. I ended up mostly making it up my own way though. I used my ruffler foot, which took A LONG time to figure out, so if anyone wants to try it and needs a tutorial, I would be happy to show you what I learned to save you some time!

This first blanket is minky on one side and cotton on the other. I used packaged binding to ruffle, which I think saved me a lot of time!

The second blanket I made was minky on both sides, and I think it turned out better. Thanks to my lovely cousin Kristin for saving the day and mailing me some more binding from JoAnn, since I underestimated how much I would need.

These look great! I thought sewing with minky was supposed to be tricky, but you have obviously figured it out! Is there a secret to it?
